art magic with BWG

I have a group that is planning to start up a burning wheel campaign that involves magic. I really love the Art magic described in the magic burner and want to use that system.
Art magic has various effects that use Sorcery Vs. a stat. Would double obstacle to the stat apply here like it does in Fight! and Range & Cover?

I’d say not. Treat it as if the sorcerer was testing power.

Those guys don’t need any extra benefit, trust me.

If you let Evoke halve the successes of the victim, it will be brutal.

With Sorcery being open plus extra dice from a relevant school, Evoke is already a pretty good way to take a number of individuals out of commission. Add halving opposing successes and suddenly you can engage a whole bunch of individuals quite easily.
