Drop ambition and I think you may have a pretty good Human Nature…
I know this is an old thread, and my own current feelings on Firefly MG have changed quite a bit (reflected in the other thread), but treating Nature as something…I don’t know, simulative…I’m just not feeling that.
Like, in MG – the Mouse nature stuff is, yes, very mouse-y, but they’re also, like, the things that make them poor Guards. Guards don’t run and hide. So there’s this nice dramatic tension between Nature and being a Guard. It’s not about how “realistic” the Mouse Nature is. If it was, then you might see stuff like “eating cheese” and “breeding” and “getting eaten by snakes.” That’s all Mouse stuff, but it’s uninteresting because none of that provides for interesting game tension with being a Guard.
