Hussars - filling a gap in Iron Empires

You’re welcome, Sydney. I hope you don’t mind that I tweaked it a bit. Gave it the BW touch, as it were.

Anyway, blame Chris! It was all his idea!

Mmmmm… this is exactly why BW doth rocketh the sockeths of other RPGs.

This is pretty friggin’ awesome. (now I’m pondering how to smash it into my main pdf file, but I’ll prolly just keep it as a seperate file)

Looking at the sketches, these things are what, roughly as tall as a bus (not counting the antennas) and maybe half as long as one. Just getting a rough sense of size.

In any event, beautiful. Thanks guys.

Heck, the whole universe we’re playing around in was Chris’s idea.

I like the way you’ve set it in the BW universe. I didn’t know enough about the various subcultures to even think about it, but the Cormorans (who are the “houses of the Phaesian arm,” right?) have a bit of Arab/Muslim flavor, and the Urfans a lot of Slavic/Germanic flavor, so they’re very nicely chosen.

I love the “Court Hussar” variant. “Thrill-Seeking Young Lady-wise,” indeed!

And of course I love the art. The vehicle has a sleek menacing-insect look that’s very appropriate for something that’s basically a helicopter-equivalent (I’d been vaguely imagining the bastard of the Assault sled and an F-22). And then there’s the pilot with the cape – subtle, but absolutely frickin’ brilliant.

Sydney-

Congrats!

I’m excited to see folks work this stuff into their games.

Now back to your desk to make us more mil-porn!

I want a walking tank on the forum by Friday.

Hey, I’m sure I’m staring right at it and missing it, but these are, Anvil Setting paths, right?

Oh…

words fail me.

Other than awesome.

noble and court, respectively.

It’s the equivalent of Lord-Pilot Anvil. It appears where ever that LP appears.

Rock on! That’s amazing!

Argh! No! Higher profile, easily detected…balance issues… feet instead of tracks…too much ground pressure…too much pressure… must… not… geek… o…u…t…

Seriously:

“Creative community.” We are one. Think about it. There’s no iron curtain between canon and fanfic, between author and fan. Because the fans aren’t just fans: They’re contributors. The authors aren’t just authors: They’re mentors. That’s amazing.

Now, everybody:
Get out there and create, dammit! Move move move!

Not to mention increased surface area to armour , all those shot-traps, and the stress on the joints…

Yay for creative communities! And yay for Luke and Chris! And yay for US!

Ha ha! Awesome, Luke. Glad you like it guys.

The Phaesian arm is a swathe of independent worlds and coalitions along the border between the Gonzagin and Comoran Empires. There are a number of these “unincorporated” zones in the IE: the Vinkanse Arm, between Dunedin and Darikahn Empires, the Shattered Houses in the north, and the Vaylen Frontier in the south (a very, very dangerous place to live).
