Maneuverable Traits

This question came up in our game last week, and I’m not sure what the answer is.

When you maneuver in a conflict, you can disable a trait or weapon for the remainder of the conflict.

Obviously if your trait is disabled, you can’t get +1D from it, but in the event of a tie, can you use that trait to break the tie in your opponents favor and earn checks?

No, you can’t use the trait at all.
