In fact, the only person at the table who should be looking for Moves all the time is the GM. The player just has to describe what he wants to do and if the fiction is more or less aligned with a Move, then it’s a Move. If not, you just keep talking, like a normal dialog. On the other hand, the GM should always spring Moves on the players. They arrive at a village, perhaps the GM chooses Show a downside to their class, race, or equipment (no inn will accept Elves) or they are talking to some patrons about a nearby dungeon and the GM chooses Offer an opportunity, with or without cost (someone knows of a back entrance but wants something in return to reveal what it is), etc.
