Hi,

I have a basic question about the Armor Training skill - how does a character without it, open it?

Armor Training prevents certain negative modifiers for wearing armor during other tests, but as far as I can see the Armor Training skill is never itself tested.

Is that right? Can it only be opened with months of practice or instruction?

Affirmative. That’s why it’s a “Training Skill.” You can only get it through rigorous, directed training.
