Bargaining and Artha

Ok - so - I’m worried I’m making a Karma sucking mosquito here - so I’m hoping that I can get peer review.

I’ve been thinking about Immortal Investment and some not-so-ethical monsters, and stealing souls and stuff. But - what if an unethical sort were to bargain with the undead for their leftover Artha. I’m envisioning something like a witch calling forth the soul of the restless dead using their bones, and offering to give them to a priest for burial, or, scatter them (or use them as an enchanting matrix!), if only the ghost will place their artha within their athame or cauldron. I’m also thinking of witches calling forth daemons, and trading for Artha to empower their magic.

Obviously - I think this is cool as hell, and a nice horrible reason for someone to trade in summoning the dead. But I’m worried about the above mosquito. I think it’s fine because of the Aura of Martyrdom trait and the laundering through items rather than directly trading artha.

Thoughts?

Is there a reason to use Artha rather than just the Artha effects? I.E. That Athame or Cauldron directly gaining open-ended advantage dice or a trait “slot” or advantage dice (not quite the same, I know) like with Blood Magic?

Really, no. Just a way to limit it, and a gauge of power. Mechanical limiter on a fictional act of stealing from the dead.
