Beginners Luck and Help

Quick questions:

Willy is making a Beginners Luck Persuasion test. He rolls Will at double ob. Emmett wants to help with Will and have it count as a test towards opening his own Persuasion skill.

  1. Is a Beginners Luck test a stat test or a skill test?

  2. Can you Help with a stat and recorded it as a test towards opening a skill?

I’m unsure on the first and I think “no” on the second.

Emmett is helping with his WILL, thus it is a stat test. Emmett only records advancement for advancing his Will, never for learning a new skill.

“If a character does not have an appropriate skill for a test, he may test using a stat instead.” - BWG p. 37
