Honestly, I’m just afraid that if I put up a preorder my Kickstarter backers will start complaining to me about shipping.

Given the state of shipping right now, I can’t says I blame you. Maybe things will straighten out some after Christmas.
If you mean international ocean, industry estimates I’ve seen are anywhere between mid-2022 and late 2023 right now for return to normal. It’s pretty brutal.
Yeah. But Christmas season we can expect to be even more so…
