Compatibility of 2e cards (weapons, armor, conditions) with 1e rules

Hi all,
not sure this is the right place, so mods feel free to move.
I never managed to buy cards for TB1e, the 1e cards pdf aren’t for sale anymore apparently, and there are 2e cards on drivethrurpg, but I was wondering how compatible are they with the 1e rules?

Hey there!

Mostly compatible–the names are the same, but there are some slight tweaks.

  1. The 2e decks are mini-cards, so they are not the same size
  2. Maneuver has a Rearm action
  3. Exhausted’s effect changed
  4. Bow’s effect changed
  5. Shield slightly different text
  6. Flail has different bonuses
  7. Two-handed sword renamed Great Sword and effect changed

Doesn’t seem the changes are too drastic; do you think it would be difficult to adjust the text on the cards?

I mix 1e and 2e cards all the time. Since you’ve been playing for a while, you probably don’t need the instruction text on the card anyway. Or… you could just use the 2e effects from the cards and keep doing what your doing with 1e otherwise.
