I would likely describe this as a step up from normal fan-fiction but a definitive step down from a true novel despite its size. The pacing and relentless focus on the main characters will certainly read like campaign fiction as opposed to a curated, balance story - i.e. how come that guy’s falcon only appears in scenes where its cool and not in scenes when it would be a pain?
