To get Blossoms to work smoothly with Gold I’ve been going through the book to see what differences there are, and how they ought to be resolved. Mainly it’s a question of changing page references (for all the skills, f’rinstance) and making small adjustments - Blossoms references the Geometry Training, Rowing Training, and Tailor skills which no longer exist, and does not have the Rower or Geometric traits. The weapons need their speeds changed. Like I said, mostly straightforward.
There are a few things though that are slightly more tricky. Firstly there are a few traits which have had Blossoms-specific changes made - mostly by upping the price slightly and making them increase Shame but some other stuff as well (Ambitious, Blind, Good for Nothing, Mercenary, Outlaw, Possessed, Tonsured). With these, the main issue is one of clarity - I would prefer, when looking up a skill, to know which book it’s in. Perhaps this can be solved by adding a marker (Ambitious [b]) or something?
Then there are a slew of traits that either just work differently than their Gold counterpart, or which are simply character traits in Gold but have rules effects in Blossoms. Some I feel are probably better off as char traits (does Cramped Hands really need to be a Dt?) but others I’m not sure. The traits on this list are as follows:
