I recently had some confusion around this with a friend who will be playing in a game I’m running. Then I saw a forum post that made me even more confused. So let’s get this on the table:
A “Born” lifepath is counted as a lifepath for purposes of determining LP #. So if our game is LP limit 4, you can pick:
Born (LP #1 )
LP #2
LP #3
LP #4
Right?

Right. Born LPs count towards the total LPs.

Note that people on the forums sometimes write “LP1 -> LP2 -> lead to setting -> LP3.” That’s still three lifepaths. Leads aren’t LPs themselves.
<ahem>
THREE SHALT BE THE NUMBER, NO MORE, NO LESS!
(five LPs is right out !)

*but with an Exponent Cap of 5 on abilities.

Four lifepaths may be too many, but three is clearly not enough.
REAL men use three and a half.

Real children, on the other hand, are just Born.

This sounds like a masochistic scenario for Burning Con.
