These are my players’ Beliefs. Whaddya guys think, is this workable? I’m not really sure how much PVP-type stuff we can get away with in Torchbearer.
Sounds like a Fate/Persona machine to me, encourage them to roleplay them to gain the “Going against a Belief” and “Embodiment”. Also let them know that if they don’t play in group, they will die.

Let them work it out in the game. Be sure to use the PVP rules, though. They’re brutal.
