I’ve been researching this game and it appears to be exactly what I have been looking for to play with my 10 and 8 year-old! I’m getting ready to purchase the book, but I first wanted to know if any errata has been compiled for this book. I’ve looked all over the forums and can’t find a thing. Maybe this is a good sign that there really aren’t many errors…Can anyone help? Thanks!

The errata I’ve seen has all been for the character sheet. I’ve not seen a compiled list yet.

Grabbing the Q’s and A’s from other places…
There are a couple of typos, the description of the Heavy factor (for armor) on p243 is incorrect (use the one from p118/119 instead), and a correction is needed about the base for disposition for chases (the book says Nature, but that’s only appropriate when being chased. I think the consensus is to use Health when chasing, but I’m not sure).
ChainmailDoug:
Hello - I bought my copy of Mouse Guard RPG through Amazon, and only recently received it.
It’s quite different to other RPG rules I own, and I’m experiencing a little difficulty in adjusting.
There’s one thing, thus far, that I can’t understand, and it’s on page 110 of the rulebook; the conflict resolution chapter.
let me quote:
“[Liaem’s] losing 10 to 1. He has to do a lot of damage quickly. He spends a persona point and taps his Nature. He adds his Nature rating, 4, to his Fighter 3. He also adds his Determined trait to this roll, and decides to use his +1D Sword bonus, too. (See the Weapons in Conflict section for how that works.) He manages to muster 10 dice.”
I can’t work this out.
Nature 4 + Fighter 3 + Liaem’s Determined trait of 1 (page 40) + the sword’s Useful bonus of 1D only seems to add up to 9 to me.
I fear there’s something I’m not understanding, and until I do, I can’t wrap my head around the game.
Can someone help me out, please?
borndigital:
I am new to BW, and just reading the Mouse Guard book for the first time. So far it sounds very neat and I am rather excited about trying out the narrative mechanics of this game.
I was reading through the Conflict section and it says that Nature is the base for a Chase. Directly below it says “Mice may only use Nature as a base for disposition if the conflict is appropriate to their Nature”. Does this mean that Mice may not use their Nature (they have base of 0 and are therefore at serious disadvantage) if they want to chase after something since I can’t think of a case where they would be the pursuer in given the four aspects of the Mouse nature?
Or is that rule only referring to the other two conflict types where both Health and Nature are options?
Thanks
luke:
Use Health for dispo.

This compilation took about 35 minutes.
Luke still hasn’t answered the “what’s the dispo for a mouse chasing”… Edit: Luke just answered it. Editing the errata in to the post as I go.

The game plays straight out of the book. Any “errata” were merely oversights, like the maximum rating for a skill .
Enjoy your purchase. Be sure to come back and tell us about your games.

Just copied the noted exchanges above. Perhaps this should be stickied?

William, the part you quoted makes it look like the maximum for skills, Will, and Health is seven, not six.
Also, I think you have borndigital’s question on there twice.
I appreciate the help, fellas. When I can, I like to know this type of thing when I’m learning the rules. Who wouldn’t? I figured that MG has been out long enough to have this compiled, but it looks like it hasn’t until now. You guys are great.

Not really errata, but our house rule about tied ties?

Armorer, page 243. In the failure options, all references to +1 Ob should be replaced with -1D.
