Order Affiliation and Reputation and Summoning clarification

What is the significance of Order Affiliation and Reputation beyond journeyman?

My first guess would be that if I try to summon an angel and I have a First Order affiliation with the halls of heaven (1D), I get an extra die for when I try to summon angels? A Second Order affiliation (2D) would grant 2 extra dice.

Can someone tell me if my understanding is correct? What is the significance of Order Affiliation and Reputation?

Yep that’s pretty much what it means, if you have an affiliation with a certain order it means you get what +D you have to the roll when you try to summon a spirit of that affiliation.
