Poacher LP - No bow or crossbow?

Hi!

Was making my first character today and noticed that you get the Hunting skill from Poacher, which requires Bow or Javelin, neither of which are included in that LP. So is the thinking that before you become a Poacher you should have been something that lets you learn how to use the weapons needed for…poaching?

Another, minor, question: Does Crossbow count for the Bow requirement of Hunting?

The Hunter skill uses a bow or javelin as a tool. It does not require the Bow skill or Javelin skill.
