If a player is anticipating a class ability that raises a skill cap to seven, can he save passes and fails for future use? For example, a L7 Paladin has a Fighter 6 with seven passes and six fails marked. This currently has no effect on his skill. But, when he reaches L8 and takes the Vow to the Lady of Battle ability, does his Fighter skill automatically go to 7?
Good question. For now, I don’t have a definite answer for you. Your call whether the character can accumulate tests for advancement before they have the ability to advance the skill. I can see arguments either way.
It would probably work the same as if your skill was 5 and you got 5 passes and 4 fails while Sick. As soon as you removed the condition, you would advance.
