I’m thinking of taking my torchbearer group online with roll20. I really like the cards. Was thinking of scanning them and throwing them on roll20 for personal use but then I thought that might be illegal. Anyway I can get an official response? Like should I not use the cards at all? Just not use the Art? Or can i scan them and go wild as long as its for personal use?
I am absolutely not qualified to give you a definitive answer, but if you’re using them to play a private game and you’re not distributing them, then I’m sure it’s ok.
If you were making money off of them or distributing them in such a way as to compete with the actual cards, that would be bad.
But using the cards you bought to play the game? Even as a digital copy, this seems like “fair use” to me, but I am not a lawyer.
