Surprise

Is there any kind of Surprise rule detailed in the MG rulebook?
It occurs to me that a Fight Conflict makes an assumption that everyone knows where everyone is at the beginning of the conflict; a Feint may be used to represent a hidden team member, perhaps, but what about those times when there may be a surprise attack? Say, when a team of mice happens upon a coiled, sleeping snake. Or, maybe when an owl happens upon a patrol of sleeping mice?
My initial thought is that it would be a simple test: The mice roll for a Fighter test to see if they kill the snake, or the owl simply swoops down and succeeds on a Nature roll, grabbing a mouse. Would that be the proper method of handling this?

Surprise is represented by the results of a twist. If you fail your Scout test vs the Snake’s Nature, the twist is that you were surprised and carried off.
